E.L.F Studio Haul and Reviews

I received my E.L.F order last week and have been using them to their fullest extent so that I will be able to give you guys a review on them according to my fullest extent. haha. So here it goes..

1 Blush and Bronzer compact. 2 Studio Brushes. L to R. Powder brush, Complexion Brush, Blush Brush, Eyeshadow "C" Brush, and the Contour Brush. 3 Studio Blushes in candid coral and blushing rose. 4 Eyebrow Lifter and Filler in Ivory and Dark. Also the Wet Gloss Lash and Brow mascara. They come separate actually. 5 Lashes in natural and dramatic. 6 Studio Eyeshadows in Amethyst, Butter Cream, and Coffee Bean. 7 Shine Eraser. 8 Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths.

upon opening the package, i was quick to realize that the pictures of the eyeshadows and blushes (on the elf homepage) are very misleading.

I was very impressed with the brushes, all except the Complexion Brush. Although the blush brush is a bit small, it's good for contouring the cheeks and where the nose is. I learned to like this brush a lot. Both of the eyeshadow brushes I like as well, especially the contour brush. It's perfect when it comes to creating that outer "v" look. The Powder brush is awesome as well. It blends wonderfully and is super soft. Now the complexion brush, I didn't like as much. It's way too flimsy. But all in all, I recommend these brushes.

I don't like the studio line eyeshadows and will probably never order them again, that's if I ever even use them up. LOLz. The colors aren't very pigmented. They don't stay on for long either, even over my Urbay Decay Primer Potion.

L to R -> Blush and Bronzer Duo. Blushing Rose. Candid Coral

I really like the blush and bronzer duo. I've been using it almost everyday since I've got it. Although the two colors go great together, I sometimes like to pair the bronzer with my NARs Orgasm. Either way, they're both very pretty colors. I definitely recommend this. The blush in the duo set looks very similar to Candid Coral. LOLz. too similar actually, except with a little more sparkle. Blushing Rose is a bit too pigmented, but if you use the right amount, it's actually quite pretty. I would definitely recommend the blushes over the eyeshadows.

I don't like the brow liner and filler thingie. It's way too creamy. It's texture resembles that of the nyx eyeshadow pencils. DON'T buy this! Although the lashes were only a dollar, I probably wouldn't buy them again. I think they're bad quality. The brow mascara does what it's suppose to do. I like it =]

**and i noticed that i forgot to review the makeup wipes. I don't like them. Like all the other makeup wipes I've tried, they burn my eyes =( . I guess I won't be buying these again either. LOLz.

Before ordering from E.L.F, I was already skeptical of their products..and now I know why. But it's okay..because out of all bad things I bought, I ended up a few very good things. Soooooo I'm somewhat satisfied =]

If any questions, feel free to leave me a comment anytime..

BB Cream Quick Review

What exactly is a BB Cream?

BB Cream, also known as blemish balm, is a multi-purpose treatment cream used for various things such as foundation, makeup base, sun protection, as well as facial moisturizer. They often promise to give a whitening effect (w/e that means). It's very popular amongst Korean and Japanese celebrities (who are all absolutely gorgeous btw).

I heard about the hype a few months ago and was immediately interested. All the reviews I read about bb creams seem to swear by them. I mean, who wouldn't want to find the PERFECT foundation? I know I would...and so I did. And in my honest opinion, after about my fifth bb cream, I realized that bb creams just weren't meant for me.

The weird thing is, in the midst of it all, I found myself somewhat addicted to ordering these darn things. If the first one didn't work out right for me, I'd proceed on to the next one. And if that one didn't work for me, I'd order another. I guess I wanted so badly to believe in the hype that I was completely in denial. haha. So here's my honest review on them...

My opinion on BB Creams

They suck. Okay, okay..suck is too strong of a word. Let's just say they're not that great, at least not for me. The thing that I dislike the most about my bb creams is that they all make me look dead. My face not only looks incredibly pale (maybe that's what they meant by whitening?) but also dry (some make me very oily). There's nothing healthy about looking dead, dry, or oily.

Coverage is not that great either. After each application, my acne scars are still very much visible. Although I wanted so badly to like them, I didn't. They just didn't work well for me. My mom, on the other hand, loves the Legere and the Missha Perfect Cover BB creams. I'll admit though, one good thing about these bb creams is that they do cover up redness. But sadly, coverage never last longer than 3 hours for me. If you're thinking about buying one, I suggest you just buy ONE. If the first one doesn't suit you, then non of them probably will.

If you want me to go more in depth with each one of them, just simply ask. I'll be glad to do it. But for now, I'm feeling kind of lazy. haha.

Here is a quick haul of all the bb creams I own.

and these are their swatches

The one that I do use occasionally is my Dr. Jarts BB Cream. I usually use it as a concealer because it's got the better coverage out of the five. Besides that, I hardly ever use them. I'm a little disappointed because I had high hopes for these things.

Which One Would I Recommend?

If I HAD to recommend one out of the fives, I'd probably recommend the Missha Perfect Cover (the one in the red tube). It has alright coverage, longer staying power, and doesn't make you look quite as pale as the other ones. Although the Legere looks very brown, it oxidizes to a very pale color once blended so don't be fool by that. Now remember, this is just my honest opinion on my BB Creams. I suggest you do a little bit of research before you order one because some of these things can get a little pricey. If any questions, feel free to drop a comment or two =]

Colin Jax Pham

Let me introduce you all to my little man =]

Colin Jax Pham
he's my reason to smile every day

Check out this cute little video I found of him. We took him to Virginia Beach for his 5th birthday this year and he absolutely loved it. ENJOY.

(sorry. i laugh like a cow. haha)

Daily Ramblings

I've been up since six this morning. The boyfriend woke me up as he was leaving for work, so I've been up ever since. So far I've gotten all my motherly duties taken care of (yaaay me!). I did the laundry, cleaned the room, made the rice, and cooked lunch. It feels good to actually spend some time at home, especially after 6 consecutive days of working. I've missed my pumpkin so much so today's gonna be HIS day (probably chuck-e-cheese, like always.haha). Gotta head back to the mall to return the MAC foundation I purchase the other day as well. The foundation itself I love, but the color does not suit me =/
