My February Favorites

I know I'm really late on this but..let's get started.

Face Products:

My face tends to be dry during the winter times but can easily get oily if given the opportunity. So my facial moisturizer has to be on it all day, everyday. For the month of February (in fact from the moment I bought this) I've been loving my Origins Make a Difference Skin Rejuvenating Moisturizer. I've been using this for about two months now and can honestly say that it has made a huge difference in the appearance of my skin. My bare face now looks more even-toned and less red. I really like this product. It's unfortunate because I probably won't be using this when summer rolls around. It's too overly moisturizing. But for the winter months, this moisturizer is a favorite.

I think I've found my HG foundation last month. I'm not completely sure yet because I've only wore this foundation 4-5 times, but I cannot stop gushing about how amazing this foundation is. I'm talking about the MAC's Matchmaster Foundation. I have this in shade #2. It doesn't feel heavy at all, unlike MAC's other foundations. It's got great coverage. It matches my skin tone so beautifully. It lasts all day long, even on my oily skin. I LOVE this foundation so much and am so glad I purchased it. One reason why I think this foundation lasts so long is probably due to my MAC's Mineralized SkinFinish Powder. I purchased this the same day I purchased my Matchmaster foundation so I've only started using this. It does a great job at setting my foundation without it looking cakey or anything. I like this product a lot as well.

Left to Right: Tarte's Tipsy. TheBalm's Bahama Mama. MAC's Mineralized SkinFinish

My favorite blush for the month of February has got to be my Tarte's Amazonian Clay blush in Tipsy. This color is so pretty and I cannot stop wearing it. Even when I reach for another blush, I end up topping it with Tipsy. It's just the prettiest coral color. I also have this in the gel form but that one does not even compare!

Another favorite this month would have to be my Bahama Mama Bronzer by TheBalm. I know it looks scarily dark in my picture, but it really isn't. This is a matte bronzer that is great for contouring. I like this color so much because it's so easy to blend. So whether I want my contours to look a little more harsh or less obvious, this bronzer gets the job done for me.

Last but not least for face products, my MAC's Lustre Drop in Pink Rebel. I like this item so much more than Benefit's High beam. This color just suits me so much better. I feel so pretty when I wear this. My skin also looks healthier with this on. I love this stuff.

Eye Products:

Left to Right: Glamour Check!. RSVP.

This product I feel like I've had forever. I'm so glad it's lasted me for this long and am so scared to part with it one day. LOLz. It's my Benefits Creaseless cream shadow in R.S.V.P. This is just a small trial size that I own. This is probably one of my most used eye products. I love it's creamy texture, it's long lasting power, and especially the way it looks on. It's just the prettiest shimmery beige color ever. If this ever runs out or dries out, I would definitely repurchase it again.

Another eye product that I'm really loving for the month of February is my MAC eyeshadow in Glamour Check!. I use this color a lot on my crease. It gives my eyes the right amount of definition. It's a really nice reddish brown with fine gold shimmer, a really awesome color.

This next product was a part of a palette set I received for Christmas. It's the Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer. I was previously using the Too Faced Shadow Insurance but have not gone back to that since using this. I love the consistency of this primer. It feels similar to the Urban Decay primer. It's a great eye shadow primer.

Other Random Loves...

Dolce and Gabbana Rose The One Perfume and these awesome studs from Forever21

These heels I bought on clearance. I've wore them twice already. I especially love the studs.

That wraps it for my February favorites. Let me know if you've tried any of these products and how you feel about them =) Until next time, have a great day!

Hautelook Haul

I make it a habit to check hautelook.com occasionally to see if they have any good deals on makeup (because they usually do) and stumbled across a Stila sale one day. If you're not familiar with hautelook.com, it's a members-only site that features brand name goodies. Items range from clothing, to shoes, makeup, even home decor items. But the featured Brand is only featured for 2-3 days. And the awesome thing is, the prices of these items are usually marked 30%-80% off!

I was able to get my hands on the Stila Prime Color Set in Cool and a Stila Kajal Eye Liner in Pearl. It took about 2 weeks, from the day I placed the order, for everything to get to me.I paid $10 for the set and $5 for the eyeliner. That's a steal, especially since one Stila Primecolor runs for $22 alone (originally). On the Stila website, they're on clearance for $8 a piece. I was super excited when I came across this deal on hautelook. Get your hands on these items quick because I think they're soon to be discontinued.

Left to Right: Kitten. Pop of Pink. Capri Coral

I haven't used these yet but according to the packaging, "they beautifully enhances the skin by combining the benefits of a primer, lip color, eye shadow, and cheek color in one luxurious formula.." ..sounds too good to be true. LOLz. how can one product do all of that?? i guess we'll just have to see..

here's the Stila Kajal Eyeliner in Pearl. I bought it mainly to use on my waterline. I've only swatched this on my arm, but even so it seems long lasting. I tried wiping it off and it put up a good fight.

I can't wait to use these! Let me know if you guys want a review on these.

My BB Cream came in the mail

This is my third time repurchasing this BB Cream. It matches my complexion nicely and works great on my oily skin. I've tried my share of BB Creams and this one is honestly one of the best. It provides less coverage than a foundation but more coverage than a tinted moisturizer. I am currently using the pink label one, but I like the Gold label one as well.

Drugstore Haul

I'm BACCCCKK!!

After a long hiatus, I can honestly say that I'm glad to be blogging again. I've missed you all =)

What better way to come back than with a haul, a Drugstore haul to be exact. Towards the end of 2011, a string of new makeup releases hit most drugstores. There was so much new stuff yet not enough money to buy them all, at least in my case. So out of curiosity, lord knows I don't NEED anymore makeup, I purchased a few of these newly released items and am more than glad to share them with you guys.

Let's start off with Maybelline's 24 hr Color Tattoos.

Left To Right #35 Tough As Taupe. #50 Edgy Emerald. #15 Audacious Asphalt. #45 Bold Gold. #30 Pomegranate Punk. #05 Too Cool

I'm a sucker for cream shadows and these ones do not disappoint. They're definitely long lasting, although not 24 hours as promised but long enough. Mines crease after 6 to 7 hours, but it's understandable because my lids are extremely oily. They work lovely as a base or as an all over eye color. The colors are beautiful! My favorite one would have to be Tough as Taupe. It's the only matte one and has a creamy consistency. All the other ones I have feel a little more slick, which isn't a bad thing but I would rather them be creamier. Some colors are harder to work with than others, especially Edgy Emerald and Audacious Asphalt. They don't swipe evenly across the eye, looking a bit streaky and the more you layer on, the streakier they look. But as liners, all products perform beautifully. I really like these and would definitely recommend them.

Next up are the Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows.

Left to Right: Bronzed Taupe and Iced Latte

These are soft textured pigments that are compacted into their containers. They have a silky slick feel to them. You can apply these with either a brush or your finger, I prefer my finger though. They are long lasting, though I wouldn't say as long as the Maybelline color Tattoos. They have a metallic sheen, which I like. Bother colors I have are very pretty. Iced Latte looks more yellow in the jar but swatches more of a champagne color. Bronzed taupe is more on the bronzy side. There's so much product that I will probably never have to repurchase.

These are the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters.

Left to Right: Strawberry Shortcake and Creamsicle

These were probably the hardest to find. I had to make at least 4 trips to Walmart within the month to find some and even then all the colors I wanted weren't available. So I settled for what was available. The thing I love most about these is that they give off color and at the same time are very moisturizing. Everybody has raved about this product, now I can see why. I was expecting Strawberry Shortcake to be pinkish but it's definitely on the purple/fuchsia side. The name is a bit misleading. Creamsicle leaves your lips looking nude, too nude. It's not a very flattering nude either. I would prefer it to be on the peachy side. The lip butter itself is great, just not too fond about the colors I picked up.

I picked up a few other items from the drugstore as well.

Left to Right: Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer. ALBA Oil-Free Moisturizer. Outdoor Hands Skin Therapy Cream.

Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer: First of all, the packaging is beautiful. I really wanted to like this product. It's got a nice, light consistency to it and feels so good on my face. I love the way it smells, very similar to their Radiant Skin Moisturizer. Everything about this product is awesome, only problem is...it burns my eyes. Even when I try applying it away from the eye, it still stings. It's to a point where I can't focus on anything I'm doing because I'm too busy rubbing the sting outta my eye. It's such a shame because I love everything else about it. So I do not use this product anymore, it just sits on top of my makeup drawer. Saaaad.

ALBA Oil-Free Moisturizer: This product was probably the most expensive of my drugstore haul. I think it cost me about 19-20 bucks. It was also the most disappointing. For something that says oil-free, it definitely does not feel oil-free. Like the Aveeno moisturizer, it's got a light consistency. But for some reason, it feels like it never really settles into the skin. My face looks like a total grease ball when I apply this. And the smell is so strong. It's got a smelly pineapple-ish smell to it, a smell that never seems to fade. uuugh. I only kept this because my husband, whose got super dry skin, likes it.

Outdoor Hands Skin Therapy Cream: This product I only bought because it was flying off the shelves at my local Walgreens. I don't have a problem with dry skin, but my husband does. So I bought this with him in mind. It's thick and creamy but blends to a nice silky feel. It's got a light medicinal scent that fades quickly. This stuff is amazing and has done wonders for my husbands dry, cracked hands. He really likes this stuff and I really like the way it makes his hands feel. Nice and soft. You have to give this a try if you suffer from dry skin.

That's it for my haul today. Now looking through it, it was more of a review. LOLz. Have you guys tried any of these products and let me know what you think about them. Until next time...Bye =)
